Create a New Plan

To create a new portfolio plan:

  1. Navigate to the Portfolio Models page.

  2. Click New in the upper-right corner.

  3. The Portfolio Model configuration window will open.

You will configure several properties before creating the plan.

Title

Enter a clear name for the portfolio plan.

This helps distinguish the plan from other models and scenarios in your organization.

Description

Provide a description of the plan’s purpose.

This description also helps provide context for AI-assisted analysis within Portfolio Planner.

Scope Location

Select the location scope for the plan. This determines which assets are included in the planning model.

Examples may include:

  • Entire portfolio

  • Region

  • Location

  • Building

The available scope options reflect the portfolio hierarchy defined in your organization’s data model. The location selector displays the hierarchy exactly as it exists in the system, and users can create plans at any level of that structure.

Important: The scope location cannot be changed after the plan is created.

Time Interval

Select the time interval used in the planning model.

Options typically include:

  • Monthly

  • Quarterly

  • Yearly

This setting determines how supply and demand values are viewed across the planning timeline.

Timeframe

Define the time range for the portfolio plan.

The system incorporates:

  • Historical data (actuals) for past periods

  • Forecast data for future periods

This allows the model to show how supply and demand evolve over time.

Import Forecasted Supply

Choose the dataset used to initialize seat supply forecasts.

Options may include:

  • Default latest values

  • Predefined supply forecast datasets

Forecast datasets must first be imported into the platform through Admin Settings before they are available in this selection menu.

These values can be adjusted later inside the planning model.

Import Forecasted Demand

Choose the dataset used to initialize demand forecasts.

Options may include:

  • Default latest values

  • Forecast datasets defined by your organization

Forecast datasets must first be imported into the platform through Admin Settings before they appear in this selection menu.

These forecasts can also be modified after the plan is created.

Adjustment Levels

Adjustment levels determine the level of detail at which supply and demand can be edited.

Examples include:

  • Buildings

  • Buildings and Floors

Additional levels may be available depending on system configuration.

Machine Learning Attendance Predictions

Portfolio Planner can incorporate machine-learning–based attendance predictions to improve demand forecasting.

Attendance predictions are enabled depending on the datasets connected to the platform. When sufficient data is available, the system can generate forecasts using signals such as:

  • historical attendance patterns

  • seasonality patterns

  • holiday schedules

  • company events

  • weather

These signals help estimate how many employees are likely to actually use the space, not just how many are assigned to it.

This allows teams to evaluate planning scenarios based on expected attendance patterns rather than headcount alone.

After configuring these settings, click Create Model to generate the portfolio plan.
